4Tronic completed a major electrical upgrade at the high-security Interxion Data Centre in Brick Lane, London. Working in a live data centre, we carried out several Low Voltage (LV) projects, including the installation of new power supplies for rooftop chiller units.
The work was completed safely, efficiently and with no disruption to the site’s critical operations.
As part of the project, our team:
Installed 4 x 240mm² 4-core SWA cables from the Level 4 LV plant room to the rooftop.
Installed 150mm² Circuit Protective Conductors (CPCs).
Completed cable runs ranging from 40 to 120 metres through internal risers.
Installed and terminated new IP68 weatherproof isolators.
Connected the new chillers using HO7RN-F flexible cable.
Carried out full testing and electrical certification.
Overall, we installed over 500 metres of heavy-duty cable and connected 4 new rooftop chiller units.
The new electrical infrastructure provides a reliable power supply for the rooftop chillers, helping to keep the data centre operating safely and efficiently. The upgrade also improves the site’s capacity for future expansion while protecting critical equipment from overheating.
